i am sitting on the couch bundled up in a blanket, home alone, eating tap ramen. i'm waiting for nicholas to come home from work so we can go on a late-night date: take a walk to the apartment of the friend i'm cat-sitting for and pay her kitty a visit. it's so cold BUT i just bought a new (perfect) rain coat and i have several new (comfy) sweaters that i've been wearing on repeat for the last few weeks, and i bought new slippers and our landlord is paying our electric bill for this month so the electric space heaters we have can be on as much as we want.
we don't have a washer or dryer and have been lazy about getting one, choosing to peruse craigslist for a sofa instead, and therefore i have made a great discovery: instead of using a laundromat, we've used a fluff & fold service. ninety-five cents a pound and a mere 24 hours after dropping off my over-filled ikea bag, i have clean and neatly-folded clothing.
carved pumpkins with lit candles inside them are living on my porch.
